About Assessment
I provide individualized psychodiagnostic and psychoeducational assessment reports for all ages. Having specialized in disability evaluations, my reports meet or exceed requirements for IEPs and academic accommodations. Below are some frequently asked questions regarding assessment:
What is Testing/Assessment?
Testing is commonly used to clarify concerns related to ADHD, learning disabilities, child development and more complex mental illnesses. Once properly diagnosed, individuals coping with these difficulties may qualify for accommodations on school exams, college admissions exams, graduate exams, and licensing exams. This includes tests like the SAT, AP exams, GRE, MCAT, and licensing examinations.
How long will the assessment take?
A typical assessment requires 12-18 hours of your time. It can be divided into anywhere between 3 and 7 sessions depending on your schedule and needs.
When will I receive my final assessment?
Assessment reports are typically complete within 3-4 weeks following the evaluation. If there is a more immediate need for diagnostic feedback, a brief letter can be provided to disability programs.
How much will an assessment cost?
The cost for assessments varies depending on your individual needs and circumstances. A typical, thorough evaluation that includes a diagnostic interview, attention assessment, cognitive testing, social-emotional testing, and achievement testing costs between $1500-3000.
Does insurance cover my assessment?
Your health insurance provider might cover some of the costs of the evaluation. Following our initial meeting, I can provide you with a written quote to give to your provider to determine reimbursement for out of network assessment.
Can you be present for an IEP meeting or other accommodation conference?
I welcome the opportunity to assist you and/or your child in securing appropriate accommodations. Should the need arise for me to be present during such a meeting, my usual hourly fee of $160 applies.
How do I schedule an appointment?
